Woden Valley Youth Choir

Woden Valley Youth Choir presents its 50th Anniversary Concert, featuring four choirs, two a cappella vocal ensembles and the Alumni Choir, including some original members from 1969. Artistic Director, Olivia Swift will be joined by guest conductors Don Whitbread, founding Artistic Director (1969 - 1996) and Alpha Gregory, second Artistic Director (1997 - 2016). 

As well as welcoming Don and Alpha back for this special occasion, the choir is delighted to have, as guest artists, Kylie Higgins and Lainie Hart, two alumni who have continued to be very active in the entertainment industry.

The concert entitled Our Songs, Our Stories, Our History brings a wide variety of choral music, reflecting the history of the choir in song and the broad range of cultures and backgrounds it represents. Repertoire comes from Australia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Scandinavia and the Americas and features the premiere of a newly commissioned work by Canberra composer and WVYC Artistic Director, Olivia Swift.
