Four-Part Harmony

Four-Part Harmony

Tuesday 10th May - 7:00pm
Llewellyn Hall

This program of beautiful piano quartets with four artists of extraordinary skill and warmth will be thrilling. With two Principals from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Concertmaster Andrew Haveron and Principal Viola Tobi Breider along with my old friend and Goldner Quartet cellist Julian Smiles, we open with the lyrical hymn-like work by well-known Australian composer Paul Stanhope. The passionate world of Fauré’s great first piano quartet is a perennial favourite and the program closes with the unending and delicious melodies by Dvořák in his last piano quartet. A rare treat for Selby & Friends and a program to truly savour.
