Ben Folds brings his charm, storytelling and genre-bending music to the stage with CSO.

Ben Folds opens CSO's 2027 season with the first show of his Australian orchestral tour. Known for his fluid performances, the singer-songwriter-composer has played requests thrown onstage as paper aeroplanes, improvised whole songs out of whatever an audience handed him, and taught a concert hall a three-part harmony.

Folds has been touring orchestral versions of his songs for more than 20 years, and he writes for orchestra as well as with one: his catalogue runs from the Platinum-certified Whatever and Ever Amen with Ben Folds Five, through solo albums and a concerto for piano and orchestra, to collaborations with artists from 'Weird Al' Yankovic to William Shatner. For eight years he was the first Artistic Advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, where he recorded his most recent album across two sold-out nights in 2024.

Experience Folds’ distinctive piano and vocals in duet with the orchestral colour of Canberra Symphony Orchestra.
