Tickets
Booking a ticket
To book tickets for major Llewellyn Hall events click the ‘Book Now’ button in the event listing on our ‘What’s On’ page. Alternatively you can call Ticketek on 1300 795 012 or visit the Ticketek website and search “Llewellyn Hall” to see an events list. To arrange accessible seating, call the Special Needs Hotline on 1300 665 915 (during office hours).
The Ticketek mobile box office in the Athenaeum at Llewellyn Hall opens one hour prior to the performance. For daytime ticket collection, please consult the Ticketek website where at the bottom of the home page under “My Ticketek” you will see a link for agencies.

Finding your seat
Doors 1 and 2 are on level 4. These doors give access to Stalls seating in rows M to X. Climb one flight of stairs from the entrance foyer or use the lift.
Door 6 is on the ground floor (level 2). This door gives access to Stalls seating in rows A to L. After you enter the ground level glass sliding doors, turn left at the entrance foyer and go up the corridor. Door 6 is half-way up on your right.
Doors 3, 4 and 5 are on level 5. These doors give access to Gallery seating only. Climb two flights of stairs from the entrance foyer or use the lift.
For the comfort and convenience of all patrons, latecomers will not be admitted until there is a suitable break in the performance.
Getting here
Location
The venue is located in the ANU School of Music building which is situated at William Herbert Place Acton (City West) Llewellyn Hall is a close walk to Canberra City restaurants and a supermarket.
Other venues in the complex are the Larry Sitsky Recital Room and the Big Band Room which is in the adjacent Peter Karmel Building (Building 124).

Parking
There are four carparks off Childers Street, each of which has disabled parking and are within one minute’s walk of the venue; these are all free access after 5pm. There is also the multi-story Baldessin Parking Station which can be approached from Childers Street and has free access after 5:30pm. Limited street parking is also available.
There are 'pay and display' car parks opposite and adjacent (next to Peter Karmel Building) to the School of Music. The City-West multiplex car park off Marcus Clarke Street and cark park off Childers Street next to The Street Theatre are alternate paid parking areas.
Disabled parking
There are a total of 12 disabled parking spaces in the areas mentioned above; two in the car park opposite, five in the car park adjacent, three in front of the School and two in the car park behind the School of Art.
Accessibility
Disabled access
Llewellyn Hall accommodates for disabled access on both the ground level and level 4. If you have parked out the front of the School or in the car parks opposite and adjacent, enter through the automatic glass doors. If you have parked behind the Art School please use the foot bridge and enter through the glass doors that lead in to the foyer outside Door 1 and Door 2 of Llewellyn Hall. The elevator can be found next to the stairs on each level.
Llewellyn Hall has four wheelchair spaces; two at the front, either side of row B and two at the rear, either side of row W. For Wheelchair bookings please phone the Ticketek Special Needs on 1300 665 915 during office hours. The disabled toilet is located on level 4 which can be accessed via the lift.
FM radio assisted hearing units
Llewellyn Hall provides an FM Radio Assisted Hearing Units for patrons who require hearing assistance. The FM system amplifies and improves sound quality through the users hearing aid. Discreet receivers are available for collection prior to the performance from the front of house staff. The FM Hearing Unit is available for all performances and to access this service you can request in advance or request at the show, however, you should allow additional time prior to the start of the performance for the collection of the receiver.
Prams and walking frames
Due to fire regulations, prams may not be taken into the hall. Prams can be left with the Door staff. For the same reason, walking frames must also be removed from the isles once you have taken your seat. An Usher will take and store the frame for your and return it to you, both at interval and the conclusion of the performance.
Food & Drink
For larger events a licensed bar will be selling beer, wine and non alcoholic beverages, as well as snacks. The Venues bars can be found in the Athenaeum next to the box office, or in the level four foyer. The building also boasts an exceptional café, Biginelli's Coffee.
Please note that no food or drink is permitted inside Llewellyn Hall.

Amenities
Bathrooms are situated on the ground floor (level 2) outside Door 6, on level 4 near Door 1 and on level 5 near Door 3. There is a disabled toilet on level 4, which can be accessed from the lift. In the Peter Karmel building, toilet facilities can be found on the ground level near the entrance facing Childers Street.
Photography
Photography or filming is prohibited in all venues unless specified by the Promoter.

Theatre Etiquette
- Children are required to have a valid ticket. Children over 12 months of age must be allocated a seat.
- Always arrive early for a performance and allow enough time to find parking.
- Turn off your phones and other electronic devices once inside the hall.
- Do not take photos or record videos.
- Enjoy yourself!
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
All patrons purchasing tickets or attending events strictly do so at their own risk and are therefore required to assess their own risk prior to entry. The ANU is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for patrons. Patrons may be required to show valid identification on entry and at any other time. Patrons bringing personal items into Llewellyn Hall do so at their own risk.
ANU venues can be places of mass gathering whereby the transmission of viral illnesses (e.g. COVID-19) and other diseases that may have serious impacts on personal health.
All patrons are recommended to arrive early. Allow an additional 30 minutes as enhanced security measures may be in place which may delay entry.
The following are causes for refusal of entry, eviction and/or bans:
- Bags and backpacks larger than A3 (approx. 40cm x 30cm) are strictly prohibited – There are no storage facilities on site and we will not cloak these items. Medical items / bags will be permitted subject to inspection.
- All ticketholders maybe required to present their bags and personal belongings for visual inspection or metal screening by security staff before entering the venue as a safety precaution.
- Possession of any unauthorised banners or signs
- Possession of bottles, cans, squirts bottles, hip flasks or other containers not permitted (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
- Possession of fireworks, laser pointers, glow sticks, knives (with or without sheath), horns, air horns, whistles, Vuvuzela, other irregular sound devices, bars, sticks, clubs, sling shots, skateboards, roller skates, glasses, plates etc, live animals (except seeing eye or hearing dogs) or any object which is a weapon or could be used as a weapon, or an item that obstructs the vision of adjacent patrons
- Failure to wear shoes, sandals or other protective foot covering. Failure to wear appropriate clothing (e.g., no shirt)
- Refusing to move from an area or seat that the patron does not have access or tickets permitting access
- Throwing objects, spitting or dropping liquid / ice
- Public drunkenness or under the influence of prohibited substances
- Possession of prohibited substances
- Possession of stolen / fraudulent / cancelled tickets
- Fighting or threatening to fight
- Bringing into the venue professional video / audio recording devices and cameras without prior permission from Venue Management.
- Smoking, including “E” cigarettes, is not permitted on the ANU Campus
- Interfering with emergency equipment
- Minors under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent / carer at the event
COVID Safe Operations
The safety of our audience, staff and performers is a high priority for the ANU. Llewellyn Hall is operating in accordance with the current Public Health Directions put in place by the ACT Chief Health Officer.
COVID measures include:
- Wearing a mask is at the discretion of patrons. The ANU, strongly recommends masks be worn.
- Hand sanitiser stations are located at all doors
- Enhanced cleaning of all public spaces and touch points is in place
- Staff are trained in infection prevention and COVID safety
- Airconditioning and filtration systems have been adjusted to increase the flow of fresh clean air into the auditorium
- Early door entry times have been introduced to reduce large audience numbers in foyers
While at the hall:
- Cloaking is unavailable, take your coat with you to your seat
- Llewellyn Hall is a cashless venue
- Please remain in your seat during the performance
- Please move through the foyers and open spaces with physical distancing consideration in mind
Please don't come to the hall if you:
- Are sick, or suffering any COVID-19 symptoms
- Are awaiting results for, or have tested positive to COVID-19
- Have been advised to self-isolate or quarantine
