Reflections: Back to BABBA
Friday 14th May - 7:00 PM
Saturday 15th May - 7:00 PM
Llewellyn Hall
Presented by
Canberra Symphony Orchestra

Experience ABBA’s greatest hits with a full symphony orchestra when BABBA joins forces with CSO.

Tribute act BABBA returns to CSO 50 years on from ABBA's 1977 Australian tour, with the hits, glittering costumes and iconic 70s choreography that made the supergroup legendary. When the Swedish pop musicians arrived in Australia, they were unprepared for the level of fandom they would encounter. ABBA’s song Fernando soared to the top of the Australian music charts for 14 weeks (on par with the Beatles’ Hey Jude, a record that remained unchallenged until Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You in 2017) and thousands of people waited for hours at Sydney Airport to see them land.

Relive the excitement of ABBA-mania when BABBA brings ‘Benny’, ‘Björn’, ‘Agnetha’ and ‘Frida’ to the Llewellyn Hall stage, with authentic costumes, Swedish accents and plenty of humour. You’ll hear Mamma Mia, Money, Money, Money, Dancing Queen, 1974’s Eurovision Song Contest winner Waterloo and more, all arranged for full symphony orchestra and conducted by George Ellis.
