In 1924, the Commonwealth Solar Observatory was established, which turned into the Commonwealth Observatory and then Mt Stromlo Observatory. From the first atlas of the Sun, to optical munitions, observations of Sputnik, measuring the size of the Universe, as well as finding lots of surprises along the way, Mt Stromlo has been at the forefront of astronomical discoveries.
Join Mt Stromlo astronomer and Nobel Laureate in Physics Prof Brian Schmidt in conversation with ABC's Annabel Crabb on a journey through 100 years of Mt Stromlo Observatory.
